Day 1. Panama City

Arrive at Tocumen International Airport. You will be picked up and driven to your hotel in the Rainforest.

Day 2. Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Rainforest Aerial Tram, butterfly garden, orchid garden.

Morning Tour

Duration: 3 hrs.

A journey of 600 meters aboard a gondola that rises above The Rainforest to appreciating view points otherwise unachievable on the ground. At a height almost touching the treetops you will have the possibility to see a wide variety of birds that nest there, sloths, and several species of monkeys. From the observation tower you can appreciate the privileged 360º – view of the Soberania National Park, the Embera indigenous Communities nearby and the famous intersection where the Chagres River feeds the Panama Canal and subsequently filling the Gatun Lake to ensure the passage of the ships. Also around the hotel we will visit the butterfly garden, and the orchid garden.

Afternoon Tour: 1:00pm. Embera Indigenous Village in the Rainforest.

Duration: 3 hrs.

Discover the roots of Embera and Wuonaan ethnic groups, two of the indigenous people who inhabit the isthmus of Panama, on the banks of the Chagres River. Just Minutes away are the communities Ella Puru and Katuma, whose inhabitants will warmly welcome you explain about their customs, lifestyle and culture, and give you a tour of the trails where their ancestors hunted.

Day 3. Gamboa Rainforest. Panama Canal Transit  Boat Tour

We enter the canal at the north end of the Gaillard cut, where the Chagres River flows into the canal. The Gaillard Cut (also known as Culebra Cut because its curves resemble a snake) is one of the main points of interest for visitors because it was carved through the Continental Divide and this section of the Canal is full of history and geological value. The Vessel will travel the Cut’s 13.7 kilometers on the way to Pedro Miguel Locks. As you transit the Cut you will be able to appreciate the continuous maintenance that this area requires, because it is very susceptible to landslides. In this area you will also be able to observe the work in process for the Panama Canal expansion project.

Before reaching the Pedro Miguel Locks at the southern end of the Cut, you will be able to view the new Centennial Bridge which crosses over the Canal. Next, the Pacific Queen will enter Pedro Miguel Locks, which is one of the two sets of locks on the Pacific side, and here the vessel is lowered 9 meters in one step. You will then enter Miraflores Lake, which is a small artificial body of fresh water that separates Pedro Miguel from Miraflores Locks, the latter being the final set of locks before reaching the Pacific Ocean. At Miraflores Locks the vessel is lowered 18 meters in two distinct steps.

Once in the Pacific Ocean the vessel will sail to the beautiful Flamenco Marina where passengers disembark. On the way to Flamenco, you will pass under the Bridge of the Americas, and later, you will be able to admire the Bay of Panama and Panama City’s splendorous skyline.

Day 4. Gamboa Rainforest. Panama City Tour + Canal Museum and Canal Visitor Center.

After Breakfast your guide will meet you at the lobby to take you to discover the most modern city in Latin America. This four-hour tour will allow you to learn a little about Panama City.

Discover the Old Panama (Panama Viejo and Casco Antiguo), and know the main attraction of the city and one of the wonders of the world The Panama Canal.

On this tour you will see the 2 sides of Panama, where you will visit the modern side of Panama, the sophisticated city center, the historic side of town where you will visit the city’s Old Town, historic heritage of humanity. Here you can feel the Panama’s colonial past and its importance,and appreciate the different architectural styles of Europe in the New World.

Then visit the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center, where you can see up close the full operation of the Panama Canal. Finishing with a scenic visit of Amador Causeway at the southern entrance of the Canal, a path that connects the mainland of Panama City with the islands Naos, Perico and Flamenco. This road was built with material and rock of the Culebra Cut, when building the Panama Canal.

Jan 7. Boquete Highlands.  Chiriquí Province.

Transfer to local airport; flight to David City (Chiriqui Province).

Arrival and transfer to Boquete Town. (1 hr ride).

Day 5. Boquete Highlands

Boquete Cloud Forest Bird Watching and coffee plantation is a half-day tour. Pick up will be at you hotel at 8:00am, we will pick locations around Boquete to watch one of the most beautiful birds in the world El Quetzal. A professional guide will take you to find this beautiful bird, and have the opportunity to see other species of birds. Later visit a coffee plantation where you will have the opportunity to see how this grain is grown and try its delicious taste. Beautiful scenery, rainforest and cloud will surprise you.

Day 7. Manuel Antonio Costa Rica.

08:00am. Transfer to Paso Canoas, border with Costa Rica. (2 hours).

Arrival in Paso Canoas and assistance with immigration procedures, our local guide will guide you in the two customs, exit Panama and entry to Costa Rica.

After migration your transfer awaits you to take you to the beaches of Manuel Antonio.

11:00am. Transfer to Manuel Antonio. (3 hrs).

Stay: 3 nights

Day 8. Manuel Antonio National Park Tour

Departure: 7:15am

Duration: 3 hrs approx. 

After breakfast, Pick-up at the hotel and transfer to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Have an experienced nature guide take you on an informative hike through the park. Our guides know where you are most likely to encounter sloths, monkeys, etc. they will also provide a great deal of information on the history, flora and fauna during this easy 2-3 % hours walk. Snacks are offered during the tour, and guest may remain in the park after wards.

Tour 2

2:00PM. Catamaran sailing and snorkeling

Duration: 4 hours approx.

Come aboard and see the many dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and birds of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve. The tour includes snorkeling equipment and a tour of the offshore islands. We also stop for a leisurely swim at one of the white sand beaches and dive on the underwater reefs of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve. Morning Volcano, Rain Forest Walk and Horseback Riding to La Fortuna Waterfall

Duration: 5 – 6 hrs approx.

For those who have the desire to experience a Costa Rican rain forest, we offer a wonderful tour. We will start our 2 ½ hour trek through the forest. During this walk, we have the possibility of spotting 3 different species of monkeyssloths, and a large variety of birds, including the Toucan.

We end our walk with a refreshing beverage and, hopefully, a magnificent view of Costa Rica’smost active volcano, erupting regularly since 1968. 

Get spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano and the green countryside as you travel by horseback to the 140-foot Río Fortuna waterfall. Then take a 20 minute hike to the river to cool off in the rushing waters beneath the waterfall. You should go down and climb 200 steps to reach the waterfall.
